As the Motsepe Foundation Championship head into yet another exciting round of fixtures, the battle for top spot will turn into a three-horse race this week.

Polokwane City, Casric Stars and Cape Town Spurs will scrap for first place in the league on Tuesday and Wednesday. Polokwane City and Casric Stars are currently tied with 37 points at the top of the table respectively, with the Urban Warriors trailing by a mere three points.

Rise and Shine will host All Stars at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, with the log leaders coming off a 2-0 win over Black Leopards. Winless in their last three league games, All Stars sit in seventh place on the first division leaderboard.

As one of the most in-form teams in the MFC currently, Cape Town Spurs will return home following their 1-0 away victory against Uthongathi and will prepare to take on TTM at the Athlone Stadium on Wednesday. The Urban Warriors are unbeaten in their last five league encounters, recording four wins and one stalemate during this time.

Casric Stars, on the other hand, will make their way to Olen Park with Platinum City Rovers being their next opponent. The travelling outfit are unbeaten in their last nine fixtures, with their latest result being a 1-1 draw against TTM away from home.

Elsewhere, Black Leopards will attempt to end their 11-match winless streak this week when they take on JDR Stars at the Soshanguve Giant Stadium on Wednesday. Leopards are bottom of the log, accumulating just 13 points from 18 games in the 2022/23 campaign. JDR Stars return to the winning column on last week after their narrow 1-0 win against Magesi at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Also, MM Platinum will look to make it three wins on the trot when they take on Venda Football Academy at the Thohoyandou Stadium. MM Platinum picked up wins against Black Leopards and Hungry Lions in their last couple of fixtures and could end up in the top eight by the end of the week.
